Hi there, I’m Kenzie (she/her/hers) and I’m so happy you’re here!
Choosing a birth photographer/birth doula/life photographer is a big commitment. And you wanna make sure that you’re hiring someone you’ll feel safe with. So I don’t feel like such a stranger, here’s a bit about me!
Autobiography (abridged):
I was born and raised in Parker, Colorado, which is where I am located now!
I got my start in middle school and high school yearbook and have been a photographer for 10 years.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in photojournalism from one of the nation’s top programs: Central Michigan University. Fire Up!
In the Fall of 2019, I was one of nine students from around the world accepted to study at the prestigious Danish School of Media and Journalism.
My work:
I’m professionally trained in the ethics and methods of visual storytelling/documentary work (and the only birth-focused photographer in Colorado to have a higher education degree in photojournalism!).
I have a wide range of experiences spanning across cultures and continents.
I am working toward my certification as a The Beauty in Birth certified birth photographer.
I am training as a Doula and working toward certification as a Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings Certified Full-Spectrum Doula. After attending my first birth, I wanted to be able to support all birthing persons as much as I could while documenting their journey.
The Fun Stuff:
I’m a Hufflepuff and proud of it.
I’m an INFJ (the rarest personality type, nbd).
I love to travel. Before the pandemic, I was doing volunteer conservation work in South Africa.
I am an old-lady in the body of a young adult. I love to cross-stitch, puzzle, and read. Plus I love cats and have been a kitten foster!
Certified Full Spectrum Doula Support
I am in the process of earning my doula certification through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings. Once completed, I will be a BADT C-FSD (Birthing Advocacy Doula Training Certification- Full Spectrum Doula).
In my documentary-style approach, I find once-in-a-lifetime moments from what seems like the ordinary and find the intrinsic beauty in the chaos of life.
